He continued, "We don't necessarily have a specific deadline [for the release of the album] right now. After two years of pandemic we're just taking our time to put out the best album of our career and surpass anything we've done before.

One track was also recorded in "Drop A#" tuning, while another is in "Drop B" tuning.

Draimanspoke about the progress of the composition sessions for the newDISTURBEDalbum during a recent performance"Whip", ÖKLOSRadio show hosted byVollmetall-Jackie. Discussing what it was like for him and his bandmates to personally regroup and begin the creative process again after such a long separation, he said, "There's really nothing that can replace it. It was a constant topic of conversation throughout the week we had together between our two shows we played in Indiana [early November] and our Daytona gig for [the]Welcome to Rockville[Festival]. There really is no substitute. There isn't. The energy and that awareness when you have something. Compare it to fishing and you'll finally get a big one. [Laugh] That's itunbelievable, incredibly exciting. And we were hooked."

As far as the musical orientation of the new is concernedDISTURBEDLieder,Draimansaid: “The material is somewhere in between'The disease'e'Ten Thousand Fists'as far as I would call it tonally. It's rhythmic, it's violent, it's anthemic, it's polysyncopated. it's meat with potatoesDISTURBED."

Davidalso discussedDISTURBEDapparent decision to take a more aggressive musical approach on their next LP compared to"Evolution", in which almost half of the songs were acoustic or semi-acoustic.

"It's a different kind of itch you're scratching," he said. “You can have the satisfaction of playing somewhere peacefully with your kids and a different kind of satisfaction when you engage in full-contact football with your friends. It's just a different feeling. Both are equally rewarding, but sometimes you get a bit more of a taste than the other. And now we're definitely — we've sunk our teeth into this style. We really wanted to do more aggressive stuff. We wanted to go back home. We wanted to go back to that "groove so hard you can't stop shaking your head" sort of thing, so here we are and we love it.

BeforeDISTURBEDParticipation in the 2021 edition ofWelcome to Rockvillelast November,DraimancountedLou Brutusvonhard drive radiothat the band will probably do it a little differently with the next release. “The way I see it, we probably won't be releasing anything in the traditional format; we'll probably do two separate releases," he explained. "So we'll probably have one ready to go - if all goes as planned - in the fall and maybe sometime next year." "We now live in an environment and era where people's music consumption has been very sonic, very track-oriented, and very single-oriented," he continued. "And there's definitely something beautiful about trying and [doing] things like concept recording and telling a long story over the course of a series of songs - there's great value in that - but I think when you write 10 songs and three of them really work on the radio and maybe if you're lucky the fans really know half of the record and the rest ends up on a shelf and when you take them out one day it's like an obscure awkward moment during the set, and it's almost free for you. I don't want to do that anymore. I want it all to be worth it. I want to make sure we get the biggest bang for what we release. I think that should be easily accessible. That seems to be the direction the environment is taking, and it seems - whether you like it or not - the digital age has taken us there."
