As season six of Dana White's Contender Series nears its conclusion next week, the hits continued in episode nine, with all five winners - Jafel Filho, Nurullo Aliev, Austen Lane, Raul Rosas Jr. and Brunno Ferreira - deserved UFC contracts. In particular Rosas Jr. became the youngest fighter to be named on the UFC roster at age 17.

Dana White's Contender Series Season 6 Week 9 Battle Card
Brunno Ferreira defeated Leon Aliu by TKO (punches) at 1:35 of the first round
It took Brazilian Brunno Ferreira just 95 seconds to complete Week 9 of Dana White's Contender Series and stop Leon Aliu in a fierce middleweight bout.

Both competitors threw shots intent on ending the fight, but only one would grant his wish and it was Ferreira who hit Aliu with two rights, putting him in trouble. Aliu tried to grab a leg to recover but Ferreira had no chance and final punches to the downed Albanian caused referee Mark Smith to abandon the fight at 1:35 into the opening round.
Ferreira moves up to 9-0 due to the victory. Aliu falls back to 10-2.
Raul Rosas Jr. def. Mando Gutierrez via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
Only 17-year-old bantamweight Raul Rosas Jr. impressed in his Contender Series debut, beating Mando Gutierrez in three rounds.
Overall it was 30-27 for Rosas Jr., now it is 6-0. Gutierrez drops to 7:2.

Rosas opened the fight with a spin kick that missed the bullseye, then closed with Gutierrez taking the fight to the mat. Gutierrez kept working his way out of a tight spot, which was impressive, but even more impressive was the fact that Rosas kept getting him there. With two minutes left, Rosas got Gutierrez back and looked for submission, firing punches between attempts. Gutierrez eventually escaped by pocketing a guillotine choke in the last minute, but Rosas made it to the end of the round.
Rosas wasted no time securing a takedown to open the second round and a wrestling match ensued, with each fighter taking moments of control and Rosas once again finishing the round in first place.
Gutierrez used his punches to set up a takedown and he succeeded, but when he tried to capture the back, Rosas turned around and took control, eventually capturing his opponent's back and holding that position until the final signal.
Austen Lane defeated Richard Jacobi by TKO (punches) at 4:34 of the first round
Former NFL player Austen Lane made amends in his second Contender Series appearance when he stopped Richard Jacobi in the first round of his heavyweight bout.

Unfortunately for Jacobi, the first big shot of the fight was a dull lowkick that painfully sent him to the canvas and stopped the action. When the fight resumed, Lane continued his kicks, this time to the body, but Jacobi took the fight to the mat and climbed into the mountain. Lane soon managed to change position, but Jacobi almost caught him with an armbar a few times. However, after the last failed attempt, Lane responded with painful punches and eventually finished off the Brazilian. Mark Smith's stoppage came after 4:34 of the first round.
Lane, who lost to Greg Hardy in his first DWCS fight, stands with the win at 12-3. Jacobi falls back to 6-1-1.
Nurullo Aliev defeated Josh Wick by TKO (punches) at 4:36 of the first round
Tajikistan's Nurullo Aliev maintained his perfect pro record at lightweight when he stopped Josh Wick in the first round.

Wick opened the fight with a series of solid leg kicks, but after Aliev went the distance and claimed victory, an eye jab from Wick briefly interrupted the Doctor's action visit. As the action continued, Aliev took the fight to the mat and pushed Wick to the fence. There was a pause as Aliev waited for a chance and when he got the chance in the last minute he unleashed a furious onslaught of unanswered shots that ended the fight. The official time of referee Jason Herzog's stoppage was 4:36 into the first round.
Aliev moves up to 7-0 with the win. Wick falls back to 12-6.
Jafel Filho defeated Roybert Echeverria by TKO (punches) with 1:31 of the third round

After a tactical opening, a wild takedown attempt by Filho (14-2) was well defended by Echeverria, but on a second attempt the Brazilian grabbed his opponent in the back and almost got a naked choke from behind. Echeverria broke free, switched positions, got back up and towards the end of the round landed kicks in the legs of the downed Filho.
A right shot from Echeverria (7-1) knocked Filho down early in the second round, only landing on the shoulder, but in the second minute the Brazilian brought the fight to the mat. Echeverria looked for a leg lock and Filho returned the favor as the two continued to fight. Another long spell of Echeverria kicking a downed Filho in the legs led to a restart from referee Mark Smith and Filho became more aggressive, hitting his opponent with the right hand in the last minute.
In the third round, Filho kept up the heat and after a counter-left hook hurt and dropped Echeverria past the fence, a furious barrage of follow-up shots saw Smith end the fight at 1:31 of the final frame.
