What are the best Street Fighter scenes from the movies?
Street Fighter is an incredibly successful video game franchise, and like any other successful franchise, it has had many adaptations in various forms of media.
When it comes to feature films, it all started with the 1994 animated film, and we've been graced with plenty of great (and not-so-great) scenes over the last 30 years.
15. Ryu meets Ken (Street Fighter II: Return to the Fujiwara Capital)
Street Fighter II - Return to the Fujiwara Capital: ~The Fighters Who Leapt Through Time~
Start at: 05:28
Street Fighter II: Return to the Fujiwara Capital is a short film, but still a movie, in which the World Warriors are sent back to Fujiwara 1300 years ago, when it was the capital of Japan.
In the first moments of the image, Ryu is wandering alone in ancient Japan, without knowing what is happening and how he got there, until he finally meets Ken, who has lived in this time zone for 3 years and is ready to introduce Ryu (and the viewers ) everything there was to know about the capital of Fujiwara so many years ago.
14. Intro Sequence (Street Fighter Alpha: The Animation)
Street Fighter Alpha Die Animation 1999
Start at: 00:00
A chilling sequence worthy of a horror film, in which we are exposed to the fundamental question of the film: will Ryu succumb to the Satsui no Hado?
It's quite ambiguous whether we're seeing Akuma's birth, Ryu's inner conflict, or a nightmare mixing the two concepts, and it sets the tone for the 2000 OVA movie.
13. Chun-Li vs. Gen (Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li)
Street Fighter: A Lenda de Chun Li - Chun Li VS Gen
Start at: 00:00
In a film where the action is generally lackluster and rather lame, this first encounter between our protagonist and her new master has a thrilling fight scene that emulates classic Hong Kong kung fu cinema, well choreographed and shot at high speed.
Every movement is noticeable and the personalities of the two characters become crystal clear in a short scene that quenches your thirst for martial arts.
12. Ryu and Chun-Li Fight Against Criminals (Street Fighter Alpha: The Animation)
Street Fighter Alpha The Animation - Ryu e Chun-Li
Starts at: 02:47
An excellently animated cutscene showing Ryu and Chun-Li in action fighting some bad guys.
The fight includes a realistic yet cool spinning bird kick, Ryu dodging real bullets, and a final punch that leaves Chun-Li and Sakura speechless and shows how absolutely beautiful something can be.
11. Ryu vs. Fei Long (Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie)
STREET FIGHTER II THE ANIMATION FILM. Ryu VS Fei Long FIGHT
Start at: 00:00
This is a fairly simple and short fight scene, but it's special because it preserves the humble essence of two traditional martial artists competing against each other.
At the end of the fight, Ryu earns Fei Long's respect with an incredibly excited Tatsumaki Senpukyaku.
10. Batalha Kaiju (Street Fighter)
Zangief VS E.HondaStreet Fighter
Start at: 00:00
During the pivotal battle at the end of the film, Zangief and E. Honda fight each other atop the miniature city where Bison selects his targets.
As Guile's soldiers watch through the security camera, Godzilla's sound effects fill the scene as Gief and Honda destroy the miniature city in one of the film's most hilarious comedies.
9. Cammy Quick Assassination (Street Fighter II: Der Animationsfilm)
Cammy oversees security in "Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie"
Start at: 00:00
In a hardcore murder scene, Cammy White steps out of a crowd and goes out of her disguise to murder politician Mr. sellers.
She bypasses Mr. Sellers with ease and in typical Cammy style, and the assassination move itself is so incredible that it could perfectly well be done in a modern game. This scene is truly memorable for Cammy fans.
8. Gokens Hadoken (Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist)
Street Fighter - Master Goken - Hadoken (English subtitles)
Start at: 00:00
While Ryu and Ken train with Gouken, the First Killer's former master decides it's time to teach them the Hadoken Technique. He shoots the fireball at a training dummy, completely destroying it.
The looks of wonder on Ryu and Ken's faces as they witness the technique for the first time in their lives is a unique touch that truly warms the heart of any onlooker who knows the legacy of the move and the impact Hadoken will have to do with the technique. life of the two young people.
7. C. Viper vs. Cammy (Street Fighter IV: The Ties That Bind)
SFIV: C.Viper vs. Cammy
Start at: 01:05
While working as a double agent, Crimson Viper is sent by Set to try to acquire Ryu's Satsui no Hado power. When Viper confronts Ryu, they are interrupted by Cammy and a fight ensues between the two women.
C. Viper demonstrates overwhelming power and Cammy unfortunately falls in love with her. This unleashes the Satsui no Hado on the Wandering Vagabond, and he transforms into Evil Ryu to completely defeat C. Viper in one big cutscene.
6. Cena de abertura (Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie)
Street Fighter 2 - The Animated Movie - Ryu vs. the saga
Starts at: 01:33
A legendary fight scene between Ryu and Sagat, this highly animated fight sets the epic tone for the rest of the film.
Highlights include the bloody scar that Ryu's Shoryuken opened on Sagat's chest and Ryu's iconic Hadoken jab, which leads the scene into the film's title.
5. Ryu vs. Akuma (Street Fighter Alpha: Generationen)
Street Fighter Alpha - Generations
Start at: 29:50
The final battle from the 2005 Japanese anime film with detailed action-packed animation.
Punches, throws, hado blasts left and right, this is the fight we've been waiting for so many years since the previous alpha adaptation, Street Fighter Alpha: The Animation.
4. Double Hadoken (Street Fighter II: There Animated Movie)
Street Fighter 2 - Der Animation Film - Double Hadoken
Starts at: 1:27:42
This is the final battle from the original animated film. Epic, dramatic and brutal. Every punch has noticeable weight and impact, and the overall combat sequence is incredible.
However, it's the ending that earns its spot on this list. Ryu and Ken perform a double hadoken to end the fight, and the visuals are so eye-catching that they were even used in the intro of Street Fighter Alpha 2. The fight itself was also replicated in the secret dramatic battle mode in Street Fighter Alpha.
3. Ryu vs. Ken (Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist)
Street Fighter - Ryu vs. Ken
Start at: 00:00
This scene proves that there are perfect matches. In the classic rivalry battle between two apprentices, Ryu and Ken, all of the game's tropes are perfectly translated into live action.
In the end, the drama is real when Ryu starts to succumb to the Satsui no Hado and starts charging his Metsu Hadoken. Desperate times call for desperate measures, and Ken rushing to his friend to challenge him with the feature film's first fiery Shoryuken is incredible.
2. Vega ataca Chun-Li (Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie)
Street Fighter 2 - The Animated Movie - Vega greift Chun-Li an
Starts at: 49:46
A super intense fight that showcases Vega's sadistic violence and Chun-Li's unwavering will.
The scene is iconic because it is preceded by an explicit scene of Chun-Li's bath, but what really elevates this is the raw brutality and overwhelming arrogance of Vega, who collapses abruptly, resulting in a mental breakdown for the slayer as Chun-Li. Lili. ruined her most precious feature: her beautiful face.
1. It Was Tuesday (Street Fighter)
It Was Tuesday - Street Fighter 1994
Start at: 00:00
Bison, dressed in luxurious clothing and his signature hat, welcomes Chun-Li to his headquarters.
The strongest woman alive confronts the dictator with his drive for revenge and Bison delivers a unique line that was made iconic by Raul Julia and that fans still refer to today in this legendary performance.
The Street Fighter fan base has a love-hate relationship with most of these adaptations, which come with as many faults as rights, but end up being part of the mythos of the series.
Even some of the more poorly received adaptations, like Street Fighter (the 1994 live-action film), continue to have a cult following and add nostalgic value, and the franchise continues to grow thanks to this. And for those who watched these films as children, they will forever hold a very special place in their hearts.
