Illegal Acts/Criminal Violations
- Giving or accepting a title on which the assignment has been signed without the buyer's name being entered is a criminal offense. Georgia Code 40-3-91(c) states: “Any person, business, or corporation who renders or accepts a blank assigned certificate of title shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be fined not more than $100.00 or imprisoned for a term not to exceed 30 days for acceptance or delivery of each assigned blank certificate of title.”
